Paintings
I often walk from my home on Fort Street to places like Camel's Back Park, or through the heart of the city of Boise to my studio on River Street. As I walk, I think about what makes up the color and forms of Boise's natural and built environment: the texture of the sidewalk, the changing colors in the foothills, the architecture of the buildings, the color of the sky. When I get to the studio, I intuitively combine and recombine those lines, colors, shapes in a delicate balance of abstract forms. This painting began on a particularly gray day in December, when Boise's inversion was heavily present.
