Through printmaking and painting, I am interested in exploring the possibilities in which shapes and lines can visually and intuitively interact to create constructed meaning. By drawing from elements found in both the natural world and the constructed world, and then paring them down into their essence of simple shapes and lines, I create a visually dynamic balance of both tension and harmony. The compositions come from intuition and imagination, using an innate human sense of pattern recognition, and an observation of line, shape, space, and value, with special attention to vertical and horizontal structures.
